The internet of things is one of the hottest emerging technologies the world has ever seen and it promises to completely revolutionize the way we live and do businesses. The internet of things is basically the existing network of physical devices that are capable of gathering data and communicating through the internet infrastructure and other communication technologies. The technology, which is technically the internet of everything, now encompasses even the most common of objects that are all around us. This includes items such as appliances, vehicles, gadgets, and even implants. As long as an object is capable of sending and receiving data it is considered part of the IoT ecosystem. The data that is collected by these “things” can be gathered by a multitude of add-on technologies such as small electronics, microprocessors, sensors, advanced software, actuators, and communication systems. The ability of everyday objects to exchange data with one another is creating limitless opportunities for direct integration of physical things into computer-based systems. Being able to keep track of different parameters and factors that are occurring in the real world will result in increased efficiency and autonomy of everyday objects. Due to this type of integration, there is now a lesser need for human intervention. With everything now being able to “sense” their surroundings, users won’t have to manually “tell” these objects what is exactly happening around them. A good example of this type of autonomy is smart lighting systems. A light bulb that is equipped with a multitude of sensors can now determine the optimal times that it needs to be turned on. An embedded photovoltaic sensor for example can be utilized by the smart light bulb to detect if there is ample ambient lighting in any given room. It can then automatically turn itself on at night or if it is needed. A motion sensor can also give the same lighting system the ability to detect if there is someone in the room and if it needs to turn on for that person. If the lighting system is capable of communication, it can also “talk” with a user’s smartphone or other gadgets to detect its user’s behavior and habits. All of these technologies will result in a much more efficient lighting system that is also able to conserve a lot of energy. By simply being able to determine when it is not needed, smart lighting systems can turn themselves off automatically. It is currently estimated that there are currently more than 8.4 billion IoT devices that are being used today. By 2020, it is expected that there will be more than 30 billion devices that will be in active use. Majority of these devices will be utilized by the manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and utilities industries. All of these industries are estimated to spend more than $40 billion each to integrate technologies using the Internet of Everything into their different platforms, services, and systems. As of the moment, industrial products are leading the industry when it comes to the early adoption of the Internet of Things technologies. This is expected to increase even further in the coming months with more companies now spending their capital to upgrade their current systems. There are of course a lot of advantages with integrating this new technology into the different industries, which will include increased productivity, efficiency, and cost-savings. A logistics company for example can integrate IoT technologies into their fleet vehicles to dramatically reduce their delivery times. Fleet vehicles, ships, and airplanes equipped with GPS sensors can easily be tracked by their operators in real-time. By using traffic data gathered by different IoT technology now being used by large cities and countries, operators can formulate the quickest route for any given destination. Companies that transport perishable goods can embed temperature sensors into their refrigerated vehicles in order to constantly keep track of the condition of their cargo. Companies can also now quickly react if there will be a problem with one of their units through the use of different IoT technologies. Preventive maintenance is also one of the biggest game changers when it comes to the Internet of Everything. Vehicles and other machineries equipped with these devices can now automatically track their own conditions. These equipments can keep tabs on each of their components through the use of different sensors. The data that is gathered can then be used to inform its users if a specific component needs to be serviced or changed. This in turn will prevent catastrophic failure, which would likely result in large losses for companies. A factory with a problematic production line caused by damaged equipment could stand to lose millions of dollars. However, with the use of IoT technology, companies can prevent this from ever happening in the first place. Aside from providing preventive maintenance benefits, companies can also take advantage of the data being gathered by the different IoT devices to increase their productivity and efficiency. By being able to analyze the different data sets, companies can make quick and rapid changes to their production line in order to ensure that their systems are running at their most optimal levels. Having access to live data will allow these companies to formulate strategies, which will in turn result in increased production and better product quality overall. As reported by Forbes, Harley Davidson recently upgraded their production line to include different IoT system. The upgrade proved to be a very good decision for the company as it yielded very surprising results. The motorcycle manufacturer reportedly reduced its build-to-order cycle by a factor of 36, which resulted in an overall profit increase of about 3 to 4 percent. This was all achieved by shifting their production plant to a fully IoT-enabled production system. This is of course just one example of how the Internet of Everything has managed to change the way we do our business. While majority of the early adoption of the Internet of Things has been within the industrial sector, the commercial markets have also now started to make a big impact. Companies such as Samsung, Qualcomm, LG, and Intel have invested billions of dollars in developing different IoT technologies. For a start, these companies have been busy developing their high-speed wireless networks, which will essentially be the key growth catalyst for the technology moving forward. Having the right equipment and devices that will enable “things” to better communication with each other will be the biggest factor. These companies are constantly churning out new technologies that will improve upon the currently available devices in the market. Patents for better microprocessors, sensors, communication chips, and other devices are constantly being filed by these companies. The aforementioned companies currently hold more than 13,000 IoT-related patents today. For the technology to develop, smaller and more powerful sensors and chips are needed. With more portable and cheaper systems, more and more devices can be transformed. Samsung and LG have recently unveiled a slew of new products that are intended for smart homes. Regular everyday items such as refrigerators and washing machines are now being equipped with different IoT devices, which essentially will allow them to perform better than ever before. A refrigerator transformed into an Internet of Things device can now keep track of its own internal temperatures depending on the items that have been placed inside it. Additionally, the same product can also now keep track of the expiry dates of the items inside it. This information can then be used to alert its user through his smartphone or an integrated screen regarding what items need to be thrown out and replaced. Another big trend that is now gathering momentum is the use of artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistants that can now be embedded into different gadgets. Things such as a speaker are now “smart,” thanks to the integration of these virtual assistants. In the past, this type of technology was practically impossible as these types of software will require a lot of storage and computing power to function. However, with the advent of faster internet connections and the use of cloud servers, everyday gadgets are now capable of running these systems. Most of the computing and calculations are now done on the cloud by powerful computers relaying their data remotely. These types of systems essentially become the automated controllers of the different IoT devices. Modern virtual assistants can already perform amazing tasks with little to no input from their users. An embedded virtual assistant on a smartphone can now automatically turn on appliances, lighting systems, and even cars depending on its users needs. The technology is only bound to improve in the coming years. Future smart homes may become fully automated with all of its appliances and systems being controlled by our very own virtual assistants that track our behaviors and habits. These systems can then adapt to our preferences essentially removing the burden from its users. Without having to worry about turning off the lights or air-conditioning and other mundane tasks, we will be left with more time to do more productive things. ...

IoT supported wearables are quite popular in college and universities campuses. There are many students who are fitness enthusiasts who are monitoring their blood pressure, body weight, number of hours of sleep and calorie count. Fitness wearables are beneficial to university athletes in maintaining their body condition before, during and after a game.  Since students are millennials and most of the time are using their smartphones, IoT implemented in smart devices such as tables, TV screens, eBooks, desktop, laptop, etc. can improve the learning experience of students. Millennials are more into internet and technology, schools need an avenue to incorporate these trends to school campuses and curriculum in order to catch or at least maintain the attention of students and focus on learning. However, IoT technology mostly works on the internet where it collects data, store and share these data and process them to make useful notices and actions to users. There some risks to using IoT network which school administrations and parents need to be aware of in order to avoid and prevent such horrible things to happen. In addition, teachers can perform their jobs efficiently through IoT system starting from drafting lesson plans, syllabi, teaching, grading and to communicating with faculties and parents. Through IoT system, data can be shared among teachers and can be easily accessed if ever they need it. High-tech desktop, LCD projectors, audio visuals, can be of great use in teaching most especially in visual presentations that can aid in the continuous learning of students. Student Privacy Issues In the middle of the variety of IoT devices, students and faculties’ security and privacy must be maintained at its finest. In order to maintain the privacy and security of students, the school must implement a policy indicating to which devices are authorized to access the IoT network and to which devices are unauthorized and must be prevented and blocked from network access. The policy should not limit to the devices only but must include the applications and web pages as well. Firewall will help in preventing access from outside web filters and sources in order to prevent browsing malicious website which could destroy the network. Moreover, hackers are quite active in the implementation of internet of things, most especially in schools since they do not have sufficient security policies. Hackers can actually use the interconnected devices to virtually enter the school’s network where students’ profiles and data are stored. This is the reason why school administrations need to install a fully functional firewall and security system to completely monitor the system and detect possible hacks. Inadequate bandwidth and connectivity for IoT controllers and devices In order to have a fully functional operation of internet of things, uninterrupted internet connection is necessary. Internet of things is designed to collect a massive amount of data, store and share these data which will be processed and analyzed and become a useful information. There are some schools that have strong internet connection but there are few experiencing internet interruptions. Luckily, today, 5G internet and data technology is coming in the market and will be available soon. Thus, enabling internet of things network to be functional. Some of the data being collected are locations, audio, videos, motions, status, pressure and temperature which greatly require strong and reliable internet connection. School and universities need to contact internet providers that provide them options and services to install firewalls that can prevent students to visit malicious and unrelated websites. There are many issues of the internet of things and must be solved in order to avoid the misuse of collected information and hacks of stored data as well. Internet of things provides schools and universities an innovative way of providing students the learning experiences that are relevant and on trend to the students of today and to keep them interested. How can the data that would be made available be of great help in leveling up the standards of a normal event being organized? What are the significant changes it can offer to people, to make the event more engaging and fun to those who would gladly attend it? So what is the Internet of Things? For starters, basically, the internet of things (IoT) is the process of networking together internet-connected objects. Through this system, these devices or facilities are able to gather, exchange, correlate, and transmit data that is due for evaluation for further utilization. This has become the talk of the town in many facets of the industry including agriculture, transportation, and health care, which will eventually result to an estimated 50 billion connected devices by the year 2020. With this forecast, it can be drawn that the internet of things would create a massive change in how businesses are done; hence, the IoT events. Given that the event industry is highly dependent on the data gathered from other industries, increasing its pace and securing the validity of data would be made faster through IoT events. With IoT events, managers and event planners can come up with an immediate response in accordance to the data provided by the system. These data can be maximized automating the management of attendance, intelligent light keeping, security amongst guests during the event proper, and ensuring a comfortable ambiance for whoever uses it. All these would then be made readily available in a single notification delivered by the programmed devices. How can Event Planners benefit from the Internet of Things? The internet of things has been maximized in different industries. Its use has never made strictly limited to several groups of users only. It has been fully utilized in various sectors: like agriculture, health, transportation, business, and in maintaining security in the community. There is so much that the IoT can offer to the planners and managers of events. With its capabilities, it can surely provide the following: Easy Access to Information. The Internet of things can be maximized to help even organizers create events that would highly interest its audience by trimming down those who needed the event and those who are very much engrossed in joining, without forcing them to do such. This can be done by gathering data from the attendees and analyzing their data to come up with a specific event that would match their needs. Moreover, planners and organizers can easily send event invitation and accurate direction as to how to get to the designated venue through incorporation of existing tools such as Maps available in their mobile phones. This was conceptualized to finally address the purpose of events where attendees get to a unique, informative, and highly engaging events; thus, meeting the objectives of the day. Automated Registrations and Check-in. Because almost all attendees are equipped with smartphones which are NCF, GPS, Wi-fi, and BLE ready, events managers can make use of this to make the flow of the program smoother and faster. With all these connectivity applications, attendees can easily navigate through their smartphones and immediately check-in when they are within the premise of the event. Having this system would also make it easier to notify attendees with regards to announcements, awesome deals and discounts, and other services provided by the event. Most importantly, this would eliminate the need for a workforce team to man the registration. Highly interactive Posters. With regards to advertising, attendees can now easily read on the details on the photos of products that caught their attention. This data would then be sent to the exhibitors and would directly inform them of those who are interested in the product being offered. In addition, upon leaving the event hall, people are then notified for joining the event and thus ask them for an evaluation of the activity. This would erase the traditional paper and pen evaluation system, which requires manual counting and consolidating. Moreover, should one wants to further learn about the event, an email is automatically sent to the guest about everything that transpired through the event – from names of exhibitors, their products, services, and comments and suggestions to them. Better Navigation System. Allowing attendees to connect to the internet within the premise of the event would provide organizers a heat map that tracks the attendees’ location and engagements. This would then lead to a generalization the most significant part of the event that greatly interested the viewers. In relation to this, event organizers can now strategically identify means and ways on how to improve the other parts of the event to make the products and services salable to people the next time around. Ensuring Safety among Attendees. Aside from monitoring the guests of the event, it is also a must to keep the area safe and secure. The internet of things can be of great help with this case. By networking the safety features of the building to the organizers smartphone or control system, they can easily welcome guests and detect those who would only want to ruin the event. Aside from that, they can as well take control of the air conditioning units, lighting within the event venue, and other appliances which can be managed remotely. Ever since the beginning of the existence of the human race, we always strive for innovation and development. There have been a lot of novel things beings introduced to us such as technology, more so with technology related to the internet. The current trend in technology is connectivity and mobility where we dreamed of having a common system where everything is connected with unimaginable convenience. Albeit the research and development that had been ongoing and done already, we are still not able to make interconnectivity of all devices happen seamlessly but now; we are now grateful that Internet of Things is finally here. There are different kinds of IoT applications where it can be of good use to all of us. The world today becomes a huge avenue for information sharing, starting from the tiniest details up to the most complicated ones. But it is not that easy to make Internet of things possible and accessible for everyone because there can many IoT applications that need high speed and more reliable internet connection than what we currently have. However, the current internet connection is assumed to have difficulties in supporting the Internet of things system because it is quite slow than what is optimal and experience occasional interruptions. If you are one of those people who are not so familiar with the Internet of Things system, let us know more about this program so that you can decide if you want to experience it. Let us start from the creation of the term way back 1999, but apparently became popular in the year of 2008. Internet of things is a system or set of devices which are interconnected with one another; storing and sharing data using internet connection. These devices have sensors on it which allows us to use them with or without our interference. The devices that are supported with IoT collect information from the surrounding and the information being collected will be processed in order to create methods and solutions to provide the increasing demands of the society. The first thing IoT will do is to gather data from the environment which the devices have gathered and sends the information through internet or cloud. Afterwards, the IoT system will process the data and make functional information for the users and sends alerts in order to be notified through email, text message, etc. In this case parents can easily monitor their children based on the TV programs they are watching as well as the time slot it is being aired. This is very useful to households that have Cable TVs most especially those that are connected to the internet. There are many outstanding companies that are competing in the Cable Internet service provider space. One of which is Spectrum where they offer a wide variety of options from Cable TVs, home and mobile phone services, internet connections as well as plans and packages for the mentioned services. They can be accessed through their website http://www.xyzinternet.com/ or through their number at 1-855-400-1040.   IoT Applications   Iot in Smart TVs   As mentioned earlier, one of the most exciting use of Internet of things is in the Cable TV or smart TV industry.  IoT applications in smart TVs can be experienced fully when there is a strong and reliable internet connection. It is very important to note that smart televisions can be connected to the internet and there are lots of internet based channels today where children can easily access. With this, parents can check the kind of TV programs their children are watching even they are not around. Also, one can watch their favorite TV shows in their own preferred time with subscription based services offered.   IoT in Self-Driving Vehicles   Today, self-driving cars have been introduced to us and making news more often. For several years in the autonomous vehicle market, Google have succeeded offering a very possible and realistic use of internet of things in self-driving cars in order to modernize the process of commuting. With this new technology, you can buy a new car that drives you to your work as well as from work.  An IoT supported car will have the ability to suggest alternative routes so that you can avoid traffic prone areas most especially when you are about to be late for work. This can be useful if you are new to the road you are taking and doesn’t know the path ahead of you. This IoT supported car will also notify you for some weather forecasts so that you can prepare ahead of time. Possible malfunctions of the self-driven cars can be detected with the IoT system for you to be always ready on the road and avoid possible road accidents. If you are on a long ride or just enjoys music while driving, the IoT system can detect the genre of music you want to listen to. These autonomous cars are quite a few since they are expensive costing up to 1 billion dollars but the cost is really worth it because of the convenience it can provide to you. It will be in no time that autonomous cars which have IoT technology will become popular on the streets all over the world and will have the ability to drive you autonomously in the future.   IoT in Smart Households   More and more people today are using alarms in their households as a way to protect them from potential robbers and burglars. This is one of the best examples of an IoT technology implemented in a house. You can note these earliest examples of smart houses which involve sensors. These sensors can detect your current behaviors and will adjust its mood to fit that state you are in. IoT implemented houses may automatically choose the music according to your mood and may adjust the lighting of your house. There are some smart houses that have IoT implemented lights where lights will automatically turn on when you enter the house or a specific room and turn off the moment you leave. You can also have an IoT supported coffee-maker where it will brew your morning coffee while you are taking a bath or when you just busy with something else. Your daily dose of caffeine will be always on the go whenever you need it and just one click away. Have you ever imagined living in a house highly supported with internet of things together with the strong and more reliable internet connection? It must be fascinating and sound so far-fetched but this kind of smart houses are already functional today and provide the greatest comforts and convenience to its users who are living in a world of Heaven on Earth.   IoT in hazard suit   Internet of things technology has slowly moving forward and reached the manufacturing industry. IoT system can be of use in their safety uniforms of factory workers who are working on hazardous environments. Using IoT in the uniforms of the workers will allow them to easily detect some changes in the temperature, possible harmful elements or chemicals in the environment which can destroy the uniform and thus reflect damages to the user. The uniforms are equipped with many sensors in order to make the user in a safe condition while working. Although the suits are still in the process of development and innovation, you can already witness the magnitude of the improvements in the demonstrations predictions and applications procedures. All factory workers in every corner of the planet will surely feel at ease with these IoT technology implemented in their working suits because this will lessen the accidents in the work environment. Factory workers are not the only ones who will feel elated with this new technology, manufacturers and factory owners as well because they can enhance their safety and security policies and lessen the costs for medical and hospitalization benefits for their employees.   IoT in Medical Industry   IoT technology has provide huge influence on medical and healthcare industries. In an IoT system, medical workers can already monitor and do their daily rounds without personally seeing their patients. Through this, it will lower the costs of treatments as well as ensuring that the risks of errors will be at a minimal stage. IoT supported devices in the hospitals are predicted to provide and administer the medications to the patients without constantly asking the doctors. This will lessen the rounds of doctors and thus allows the patients to experience the comfort in the hospital as much as possible. In order to have a functional system of internet of things in the medical and healthcare industries, programming is very essential. It is also important to note the huge amount of data that these devices can store in the cloud that is why fast and reliable internet connection is must be in full force. In this case, 5G data technology will be very useful to supported the operations of IoT in medical industries.   Is IoT technology overwhelming for you? Well, IoT is very real and can be experienced by everyone in no time and it will be within your reach sooner or later. You need to decide what kind of IoT application will become useful for you and affordable as well. Of course, IoT supported devices and system is expected to be a bit pricey and needs higher internet connection which doubles the costs for it. IoT technology will surely make your life more comfortable and provides you great convenience which brings you to the haven of sci-fi like living and just like any technology or products that have come before us, eventually IoT will be reachable by the masses and let’s hope for that!...

“Today, computer - and therefore the internet (IoT)— are almost wholly dependent on human beings for information. Nearly all of the roughly 50 petabytes (a petabyte is 1,024 terabytes) of data available on the internet were first captured and created by human beings by typing, pressing a record button, taking a digital picture or scanning a barcode.    The problem is, people have limited time, attention and accuracy — all of which means they are not very good at capturing data about things in the real world. If we had computers that knew everything there was to know about things — using data they gathered without any help from us — we would be able to track and count everything and greatly reduce waste, loss and cost. We would know when things needed replacing, repairing or recalling and whether they were fresh or past their best.” This has been a quote by Ashton in 1999 from an article in the RFID Journal that greatly and probably best describes IoT, the greatest breakthrough trend in our modern world.   But first, what is IOT? And what are the possible IoT services available in the market today? The term IoT stands for the “Internet of Things”, although it is quite complex, abstract and difficult to explain precisely but to make it simple, it is any software, devices, animal or people that has been developed in our modern time a capacity to connect or to access the internet.  But not all objects that connects to the internet is considered “IoT”, these are usually provided with unique identifiers like a specific IP address and is able to transfer data without the need of a person or a computer to operate or function, as well as save and use the data they gather in order to come up with solutions and to be able to function on their own (automation).   As an example of an object that is considered part of the Internet of Things, can be a person with a heart monitor implant, a crop field that has a system that monitors all the plants’ status, a car that has built-in locks and sensors that alerts the owner when there are any malfunctions in its parts or perhaps avoid theft - or any other object that can connect to the internet with an IP address and is able to collect and transfer data over a network, in order to pave way to smarter solutions when the same problems occur and in some cases allow the device be able to act properly on its own based on the data they have previously gathered.   Many gadgets or devices available and being developed recently connect to the network in order to gather and collect data from the environment or situations through their built-in sensors and then in turn allow other systems to act out a solution through actuators. These devices could be common objects we already have, or we seem familiar with, some could be new and built for this specific purpose and are connected to each other through a network. These devices may be something portable or something we all have in our homes that are stationary, or they could be added to old equipment and machines to further enhance their functions. IoT service can also be part of something as big as the city we live in. The data being used are extracted from the real world through sensors and is then converted to information or digital data that provides a basis for these devices to increase their accuracy in solving problems and into how users interact with products, services or applications.   Many researchers and analysts believe that the Internet of Things could greatly impact every corner of our everyday lives: it could be in our homes, shops, offices, city streets, factories, farms and everywhere you could think of. Thus, because of IoT, many IoT products have been developed to give us greater control of many aspects in our everyday lives, like home security through door locks, lights and appliances, in business IoT offers data into resource consumption habits and trends, and help us connect to more people, systems and environments that could develop and improve our daily lives.   Generally, IoT can define and reshape the world in to a new kind of world where just about anything can be connected and can communicate through a network. Or to put it simply, the Internet of Things transforms the world into a big system full of data and information. And many business ventures have paved way to the practical applications of IoT in industries today, this includes: lifestyle & health, agriculture, infrastructures and its management, energy and transportation.   Available IOT services and samples   As IoT became a popular trend, many companies are already taking advantage of the data brought about by the technology, develop products and devices or machines to learn and predict analytics, innovate and transform their business by creating applications used in mobile phones and tablets, which are aptly called Smart Apps.   Many of the IoT driven companies focus on wearable technologies, smart thermostats, home security, and trackers. But there are actually a lot of possible industries that utilizes IoT, most of these are for business and government uses. And the main target location to start these ventures are usually where existing business processes can be greatly enhanced through these services and data intelligence. Example of these are manufacturing, mining, government, insurance, airlines, energy, agriculture, pharmaceutical and more.   So when you’re thinking of markets, be more on the lookout for old and existing industries that have problems and is lagging in adapting to the new trends and innovations of today’s newest technology. Generally, a great idea for these services is to think of offering technical innovations and solutions, so old and existing corporations are a great market, such as manufacturing, natural resources and government. The reason for this is that these are capital-intensive segments in which data efficiency and solutions are highly prioritized and they are the best place to offer the utility of “sensorification”. There is also the advancement of what is called “Smart City” in the government, which means the idea of having the technology of monitoring traffic, roads, parking, crime, noise, activity, the environment, etc. And with this, more data imaginable in the city can be easily collected by citizens and leaders, like license plates and such.   Another great target is for the Consumer Convenience. Many IoT products greatly impact and improve daily life by simplifying routine tasks and finding solutions for you like finding your keys, unlocking your door, turning lights on and off — these and other habits by users can be data that is collected by devices and is automated with sensors and intelligent software in order to mimic and function properly or as it should be.   A smart home is also a great example, a full range of products that know your preferences, your habits and anticipate your needs and respond correctly to your behavior, so you can have more time to do other important duties or jobs while leaving minor tasks to your smart home. Other examples of these are: Smart door locks, smart trackers, Smart vehicle Locks & Trackers, Smart Home, Connected Smart Kitchen, Smart apps for home and office. They all nicely fit together to make the house a home.   Another industry for IoT could be for saving energy and resources. We all know we should try to conserve energy and resources like use less electricity, water and other resources, but actually it really is hard to discipline ourselves and change our habits especially when we can't see the effects and outcomes we have caused in the long run.   A number of IoT products are developed to help this problem and use these resources to track and display real-time data to users as well as alarm us in any change or increase of usage in any of the energy and reserve, and by automating the operation of lights, appliances and heating and cooling systems, it helps reduce consumption of electricity and energy in general. Some examples of these products are: smart plugs & sockets, smart Irrigation controllers and trackers, smart thermostats, wireless home energy monitors.   In conclusion, IoT service and the benefits it offers in our modern world is a great breakthrough in innovating our lives, as it is the next level of automation of every possible object in our life. This discovery may also be a stepping stone that brings new technologies that will make implementation and practice a lot easier and faster, which in turn will also improve our lives at home, work or in between. We could expect a lot more things to arise in the digital and modern world that could lead to more advancement of technology and more unlimited possibilities to the applications of real life in the near future. To hit the Chinese government’s target of commercial 5G launching in China by 2020, the industry needs to focus on completing, establishing and implementing standards for devices and not just keep introducing new features then move directly to field trials. 5G is not just for the mobile industry but it is also the business of industry verticals. Companies should work together to try to create a compatible, integrated cross-industry ecosystem. Telecom equipment maker Huawei said their rate of roll out for 5G wireless networks is accelerating as they have begun initial development with more than 30 network operators.  Huawei is conducting pre-commercial 5G trials the world’s most populated and flourishing cities including Tokyo, Seoul, Vancouver, London and Milan. Geo-location and precision tracking will come to be an even more essential part of IoT applications and solutions in the future, going beyond market basics such as vehicle tracking, asset tracking, and fleet applications.  Geo-location announcements emerged at the Mobile world Congress with Strategy Analytics leading the conference. Hoopo, a start-up aimed at drastically improving accuracy for low-energy IoT tracking, announced that it is pioneering precise geo-location solutions for low-power wide area (LPWA) grids. The company also shared that it received $1.5 million in funding from investors to further grow its business. Girbau chose Sierra Wireless’ device-to-cloud solution, Legato embedded application development platform, and FX30 programmable IoT gateways to swiftly cultivate, distribute and expand its Sapphire app as an IoT service. Finally, with the GSMA claiming that 4G and 5G would make up the bulk of connections by 2025, it perhaps shouldn’t be of a surprise that Nokia and Vodafone Group announced that they would supply the first 4G network on the moon, supporting live high definition broadcasts from the Lunar Surface via satellite! It will be mounted during a mission by German science and engineering company PTScientists, which together with Audi, the operator’s German subsidiary attempt to push through the first privately sponsored moon landing in 2019. Vodafone said their network will enable Audi vehicles roving on the moon’s surface to send data, information and live HD video streaming from the area around NASA’s Apollo 17, which was abandoned in 1972. Exciting times are up ahead for the Internet of Things with all these developments and hopefully it will trickle down to the consumers in the near future....

The industrial revolution, which began before the 21st century had made technology flourish since then and the first computers were conceptualized during this era which eventually lead to the birth of the internet and IoT.  The first-ever framework of the Internet that had successfully worked was publicized on the latter part of 1960s; the primary motive of the discovery is for giving a piece of information to a massive population at once. In line with this, the first message was sent across to the ARPANET which came from Professor Leonard Kleinrock's Computer Science Laboratory at the University of California in Los Angeles. All the changes that happened since then had made so much impact to humankind; if indeed such a thing as "time traveling" exists, everybody would be glad to see such how much we have advanced since then. The Internet of Things was a term first coined by — Kevin Ashton a British Technology pioneer that is working on radio-frequency identification (RFID). Further, it can transfer data to a system of networks that don't require any human to human interaction, but as simple as a computer to computer interference. The contact refers to the connectivity and syncing of much vital information coming from different data, people, and even the processes of technology. Internet of Things or IoT is one of the useful things from the internet that help renovate the physical world into a better planet wherein inter-connectivity of systems can be achieved; new applications from the smartphones; a highly urbanized city with a significant system monitoring environmental and industrial policies. Hence, IoT gives the user an opportunity to control the capabilities of a simple digital apparatus. There are at least three essential components that consist an IoT: The Hardware: It serves as the physical trait of IoT that consists of an antenna, transponder, and transceiver. This is where the instructions are deciphered before passing it to the middleware. The Middleware: Anything that has been passed through the middleware is where the process of computing for any data analytics takes place, as well as it serves as the data storage. The message will be filtered by a specific software application intended for the purpose and before proceeding to the visualization. The Presentation: This is the last stop of the deciphered message and considered as the most crucial component of the IoT. The display of the letters, appealing graphics and videos will happen and be presented at this level. Thus, it serves as a bridge that helped change the internet world through the dynamic connectivity of IoT projects. In line with this, without the help of cloud-based applications, the function of the Internet of things will turn into a waste. Since the cloud-based application is a universal software that is utilized on the middleware that enables it to interpret data coming from different transmitted technology data. The internet of things can be manageable, autonomous, and collaborative with the help of data that can support this innovative advance in technology. Listed below are an array of IoT Projects that you might not realize is an IoT device or part of an IoT device, which is a result of the different technological mechanism and engineering to make your devices work. Arduino Board is a micro-controller and an open source software. This is suitable for any hobbyists and enthusiasts who strive to develop up-to-the-minute electronic projects. In fact, this isn't an entire computer package, so it still has to be integrated with the motor driver, WiFi modules, etc. Raspberry Pi works as a full-fledged Linux computer that consumes minimal energy, but it has the characteristics of a laptop/computer. Unlike the Arduino Board, this one doesn't require any motor drives and Wifi modules to work. Further, this is much updated that you can work and develop any exciting projects because the service of its applications is indefinite.   GSM/Wireless IoT-based Projects: From the remote control, the user will be able to manipulate a specific control/action device and monitors it through SMS. In result, it will be easier to give instruction, stay connected; enhance the digitalization; strengthen the networks from the machines to humans then to the Internet. These are what most industries would prefer achieving a faster result, better energy consumption and higher productivity. So, in doing these types of projects will keep you tech-savvy and updated with the modernization. Automated IoT Projects: Nowadays, it's already favored to see innovative machinery in the production area that will be automated by an engine itself where it has been implanted with the specific instructions. For most industries, this is practiced extensively, because when talking about practicability, the production cost will be reduced, because the work can be done by the machines and without any help from human labor; of course, there will be human labor, but it won't be that essentially needed, their only job is to supervise and maintain the task of the machine not to cause any delays and errors. Even though, computers don't tend to get any problems at all or would be self-maintaining. Hence, it'll be automated to do the labor without or even no human intervention. Vision IoT-based Project: Whenever the light portrays and moves in a particular motion, visually, this creates a pattern almost perceived as one object. These what most vehicles put below the railing system to emphasize movement. There are some cases wherein this is built through an Arduino that serves as the micro-controller of the LED lights.   It is the innate nature of a person that even if he doesn't need a particular thing, he still searches for it and reaches to possess something, and because of this persistent behavior we often create a way to resolve and invent things to satisfy our curiosities.   These curiosities have an enormous impact in the world we live in today, especially those projects that are in the Internet of Things: Connectivity of technology - Sensors are connected to the devices made which can be programmed easily to do whatever it is designed for.  With the data that is readily shared by the devices, decisions and products can be made in order to make people’s lives more convenient.  Take, for example, the application on your phone such as Uber which could allow an individual to get a ride conveniently through the use of their smartphones.  Or the ever popular nowadays, the many smart home devices available in the market which provides convenience to its many users from automatically setting their home temperature before they arrive to controlling their lighting system in order to save more energy.   Modern Industrial Business Internet of Things (IoT) – Many industrial businesses get enormous benefits coming from the Internet of things to sell product efficiently and earn profit easily through the use of the data gathered from the devices and programs.  The internet of things also provides an avenue for people who wishes to work at home through the use of online marketplace that they can even start their own online business at home.   Innovative and advance community - IoT gives people an avenue to express themselves through the use of microchips and mechanisms that are available to them.  With the convergence of these smart devices, a smarter community and city can be created whereby, systems and policies are set in place to serve the populace with much ease and comfort.  Surveillance systems and better city management tools would be available to these policy makers or the government in order for them to provide the best services to their people. In a nutshell, it's quite fascinating to know that the current generation is more involved in what's happening in the society.  There are people that would rather spend their summer days discovering and inventing projects that others may find impossible to build. These IoT-based projects helped in cultivating the world to be more efficient and nature-friendly such as wireless connectivity, object to a mobile device controller and mechanisms that would give aid to the government and private institutions. If you are interested to see other IoT projects that might inspire you to build one, you can check and stop by at xyzinternet.com, and you'll be amazed by how updated their technology has been since they started their business. The Internet of Thing (IoT) is continually changing every possible device there is that is connected to the internet that would be beneficial to mankind and transforming all the surrounding things.  It is indeed true that creativity brings your imagination to a different realm which can make it boundless and infinite. Imagination and creativity is what drives people to invent and advance technologies even further. The advancement of the next generations will depend on the creativity of the developers to come up with exciting new applications, thus creating boundless opportunities for everybody. On the contrary, we can't hide the fact that this also gives a chance to people with not-so-good intentions to take advantage of the flaws the developers might accidentally commit. Hence, privacy and security must be on the top list of the considerations they must contemplate. Everything that has been mentioned here has the potential to generate tremendous changes that would benefit mankind.  We just need to be vigilant of whatever new inventions or devices we can make as technology is known to be a double-edged sword, both with good and bad outcomes if not used well....

By the year 2020, ten billions of data will be streamed through connecting devices using the internet. Along with the altering livelihood and working system, the internet will begin to support additional industries and more businesses which will bring more value to the different industries it will affect and consequently jobs affected by Internet of Things.  Industry executives have already deemed that the internet will make an enormous impact even though it is considered at times uncontrollable. Besides, the internet is used as a means of communication for a wide range of devices. There are sensors which are responsible for receiving, interpreting and transporting data loaded in the devices of today. One such fine scenario wherein internet can have a great and lasting impact would be in the management of risks let’s say in an electric company.  Let's presume that every tool in an electric company was able to tie up with the internet, then a worker can receive mobile notifications about lightning damages, lack of supplies, or which areas in the city-block consumes the most energy. Think about it in a broader perspective where electrical communication towers, production appliances, bus stops, vehicles, and constructions are all doing the same thing, wherein data is continuously collected. This will impact many industries and in turn makes everyone's lives more comfortable. There will be companies that will use the internet data they have gathered to reach their intended audience and any other risks will be mitigated with the swarm of data that is available for managers and decision-makers to act on.  On the other hand, the internet will carry with it security risks which can affect both private and public security. Gaining the sensitive information from these devices through hacking will become a security nightmare, however, IT security engineers with the knowledge they have with the upcoming trends in Internet of Things and IT security are working hard to make these devices secure with unprecedented levels of security that would be hard to hack. Are businesses and employees ready to take on all the digital opportunities that the internet will provide?  One of the most significant concerns often mentioned by workers is job automation. There are specific line of businesses or careers which are expected to be replaced by the technologies available in the Internet of Things, such as those tasks that are routinary.  People fear that with the rise of this smart machines, their jobs will be lost to automation.  We need not to harrow in fear however, as all with new technologies coming in, new opportunities can also be gleaned. In the past, technological progress have shown that there are some occupations that will be definitely wiped out.  One need not to look any further as there are many industries that have all around you vanished with the advent of new technologies, take for example, the telegraph which was superseded by the birth of telephony.  In this age, the revolutionary technology that we are facing is the internet of things, which will be of interest to us on this article. Changes and modifications in how industries or jobs are done are happening quickly, with job requirements for jobs that are too manual and routinary in the decline, such as those in the banking industry and secretarial jobs and an increase in the need for programmers. Have you ever wondered how the future of the job market will appear now that internet is upon us? How will the internet affect the existing careers we have?  The only thing that’s sure nowadays is that whenever a job will be wiped out or erased in the future, another one will spring out that would complement whatever new technologies have been invented. The only thing one could do is to be adaptable and to face head and be open to learning new things.  However, it is undeniable that each career path will be changed and to fully understand such changes, there is a need to discern between quantifiable and subjective contacts. 1.) The internet economy will bring forth innovation in the fusion of different industries.   One such fine example is the boundary between IT and medicine nowadays is complementary.  With the fusion of different industries, new occupations will be available to leverage both competencies of someone from the field of medicine and someone from the field of IT.  They can work together to bring more convenient solutions to everyone’s medical problems in the future. 2.) The internet is able to create possibilities for employees to be monitored to prevent serious accidents such as falls, of which technology today is available such as those of wrist-bands or badges.  The internet will play a big part in saving people’s or worker’s live in this matter. 3.) Modern job groupings will transpire due to the internet technology. Professional designers, mechanics, embodied medical tool experts, grid reconstruction managers, and network engineers are the type of specialists which will be available for emerging careers in the future because they are examples of skilled based individuals who are capable of understanding a particular industry that deals with new technologies, on top of difficult skills like software development and team management. Until now, it is hard to forecast a complete array of employment which may be made available by the internet in the coming years.  Most expected that workers are able to foresee their positions being enhanced by technological innovation, plus end up with skill improvements and higher salaries as a conclusion. Moreover, the previous blue-collar worker could be promoted to a white-collar worker with the advancement of technology. 4.) Traditional workers will be one of the categories which will be automated shortly.  Mainly, recurring and low-skill jobs which have survived from computerization will be swapped by technology. As for low-skill jobs, the level has dropped down and became outmoded.   We have seen this change before during the first few years of the phone industry wherein the manual exchange of communications lines was done by a personnel which eventually was automated and the need for people eliminated. The internet and automation can let dull and dangerous jobs be substituted by machines and automated equipment that will be able to get things done safely without the risk of lives being lost.  There are mining companies who are aiming to mechanize their process and express preset devices without people then transfer into their mines. 5.) the Latest jobs, mainly those that entail software development, individual skills, and data analysis will be flourish with the growth of businesses that are related to the internet. Companies proposing new services and inventions will employ workers in making their products and services more extensive and highly technical. 6.) There are other jobs though that might not be affected by the internet of things technology. Careers wherein human interaction or feelings are needed such as jobs that are related to creativity, compassion, and instinctive act are those that in the near future will not yet be eliminated by automation. Workers such as nurses, caregivers, teachers, customer service representatives, home-helps, and therapists are a few of the highest number of employees that is seen not to be affected in the coming years. But everyone is asking, what are we expecting once the internet continues to flourish? There are a lot of traditional and lower-skilled work that will be eliminated but there will be new jobs that will be available to these workers.  Workers will be able to discover new kinds of opportunities,  and the ability to learn technologies that will augment them in their daily work.  To build a trusted and reliable internet economy, employees should be made ready to accept the changes, be flexible against different challenges and able to familiarize and develop their skills for the upcoming opportunities. The advancement in the technology of the internet of things also increases the demands for IT information experts to mitigate and respond to the risks the internet of things economy has created.  In one study in Wales, it was seen that there are 78% additional vacancies for information protection authorities last July 201 compared to the exact month ago when a surge in internet connected devices was seen. Electronic productions in charge of creating sensor tools for devices in IoT requires extra professional workers to work in these companies.  The increase in data quantity also increases the need for data specialists.  According to Machine Research, there is a prediction where there are at least five hundred businesses which will assign an internet chief within the year. The power to collect and consume data could make or break a corporation.  An accurate data from the tools available and the right analysis in order to respond optimally will be advantageous to a company that employs these kind of technology.  With the right analysis, a company can cater to the needs of their consumers better and develop procedures or products that suits their customer base. Companies that offer internet technology is seen to flourish in the coming years, companies such as www.xyzies.com. As for each company, their role is to guide their workers through during the adjustment period in a new setting by implementing up-skilling of their employees.  They should guarantee that employees will be equipped with technological knowledge and assist them in viewing internet technology positively, in order to manage time and lessen energy. There are companies which have a highly consumed internet usage due to data collection such as their employee’s info and work line inside the business. Gathered data allow companies to adopt policies and revamp their function area. Concurrently, employers also have to suitably preserve their workers’ privacy and protect their system against the threat. Even though it would not be comfortable seeing regular supervision throughout work but it is still for the best. Finally, the has its ways of helping businesses and society in comprehending assignment positions, especially with the ability to acquire quality, convenience, speed and the best approaches in applying modern technology. ...

The Internet of Things is here to stay, and it is poised to completely revolutionize the world in more ways that we can ever imagine.  Despite only becoming a “thing” just recently, the new technological trend has actually made an impact in our lives in more ways than we can imagine.  It also had changed how we run our businesses, similar to how steam engines and electricity had revolutionized the modern world. Recognizing the possible impact of this new form of technology, several Internet of Things companies have now sprouted up in different countries around the globe.  Aside from the brand new startup companies, more established corporations have also now expanded their operations to focus on developing different Internet of Things devices and applications. These well-established companies have poured billions of their capital into building new departments and subsidiaries to build upon the concept.  The top internet of things companies that will be mentioned here all recognize the importance of developing this new technology as it will definitely be ushering a new age of progress for everyone. For those that are unfamiliar with the concept, the Internet of Things is basically the growing network of devices and objects that are all capable of sending and receiving data through the use of different communications protocols, including the internet infrastructure, Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, and RFID. T he concept was first conceived some time in 2009 to 2010 when devices such as smartphones, smart vehicles, smart television, and other smart gadgets began to dominate the internet’s bandwidth.  Basically, before that time, much of the internet had contained data and information placed there by actual people. These included ebooks, documents, music, and videos uploaded by people for the consumption of other people.  With the advent of smart technologies, different machines and devices started to use the internet infrastructure to share their own sets of data. Hence the “Internet of People” was overlapped by the Internet of Things.  It is expected that by 2020, there could be more than 20 billion connected devices that are being used around the world. Everyday objects such as vehicles, light bulbs, watches, lamps, speakers, and even refrigerators are already being transformed into the Internet of Things devices. These devices are slowly gaining the ability to sense their surroundings by gathering different data using onboard sensors. These data can then be sent to other devices, which will, in turn, allow other devices to function accordingly depending on the situation or how they had been programmed.  With different devices slowly becoming “smart,” less human interaction will be needed for them to properly function. A simple example would be a smart light bulb that will be able to turn itself on and off depending on the ambient light around it or if there is actually somebody in the room.  A simple light bulb will be able to determine these parameters with the use of add-ons such as a photovoltaic sensor and a motion sensor. Additionally, a light bulb equipped with communications capabilities can be turned on by other devices as needed. Companies leading the Internet of Things revolution To make the Internet of Things possible, microprocessors and sensors have to be even more affordable and portable than ever before. Currently, most of the technology is already available at relatively reasonable prices. Having access to smaller and affordable, batteries, memory chips, processors, and sensors will increase the capabilities of the modern-day Internet of Things devices. The company is, after all, a veritable cloud and web service powerhouse. The company does have the capital to create big changes in the Internet of Things space and it isn’t really afraid to use it. The company has recently spent billions of dollars on acquiring different IoT companies. The search giant, however, is likely planning to focus more of its efforts on its cloud services, which will become the core of most Internet of Things products.  Google also supplied its own proprietary software platform, which has been designed to become a foundation for major IoT projects worldwide. The company is of course still covering all of its bases by expanding its operations into different fields, including commercial smart home products, artificial intelligence research, and mobile products to name a few. Similar to Google, Microsoft is also busy developing its cloud platform. However, Microsoft’s main IoT product is its SaaS offering that was designed to let users create their own IoT software implementations on different scales relatively quickly. IBM is also one of the many Internet of Things companies that is developing its own artificial intelligence system that may one day automate most IoT devices. The company is planning to implement is new Watson AI into its different services and products very soon. IBM recently featured its advanced AI beating high-level players on Jeopardy. The company apparently wants to use Watson’s powerful machine learning capabilities to help analyze the mass of data created by the large-scale Internet of Things implementations. Products and industrial applications When it comes to IoT products, Samsung is one of the biggest IoT companies that are making it big in the particular sector. The company had previously announced big plans for IoT. Samsung recently created the ARTIK smart-IoT software platform in an attempt to dominate the market.
